UK Spouse/Partner Visa Eligibility Requirements
- Your Spouse/Partner must be either a British Citizen, a person with Indefinite leave to remain/ settled status, an EU national with pre-settled status, Turkish Businessperson or a Turkish Worker Visa or has a refugee status or protection leave in the UK.
- You and your partner must be aged 18 or over at the date of UK Spouse Visa application.
- You and your partner must not be within the prohibited degree of relationship.
- You and your partner must have met in person.
- The relationship between you and you partner must be genuine and subsisting.
- If you and your partner got married in the UK, you must provide a valid marriage certificate.
- If you and your partner married outside the UK, it must be evidenced by a reasonable equivalent to a marriage certificate valid under the law in force in the relevant country.
- You and your partner must intend to live together permanently in the UK.
- Any previous relationship must have broken down permanently.
- You must satisfy a financial requirement. This means that your spouse/partner (or both of you jointly if you are in the UK with valid leave to remain) has a gross annual income of at least £29,000
- You can satisfy the financial requirements if your partner is in receipt of a specified benefit or allowance).
- You must provide evidence that there will be adequate accommodation, without access to public funds, for the family (including other family members who are not included in the application but who live in the same household), which the family own or occupy exclusively.
- You must meet the English language requirement. When you applying for entry clearance you will need to show competence in the English Language to at least CEFR Level A1. When you apply for Spouse Visa Extension/ Further leave to remain you will need to show competence in the English Language to at least CEFR Level A2.
